Warning

Too many people were killed on America's waterways last year. People die on one stretch or another of the Guadalupe River each year. Water enthusiasts are frequently injured. You assume any risks of death, injury, or property damage, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Guadalupe Canoe Livery from any and all claims by yourself or anyone else arising from your presence on Guadalupe Canoe Livery property, the river, or during any shuttle rides.

Excessive consumption of alcohol usually causes injury and loss of property. For all deaths related to this river, alcohol has been a contributing factor every time. The following persons shall properly wear a life jacket while riding the river: Non-swimmers, poor swimmers, those under 13 years of age, all persons who want to greatly increase their chance of not drowning.

Diving into shallow water causes head injuries. Do not dive into this river. Avoid low hanging branches which can impale you or dislodge you from your craft. Sharp rocks and rocks just below the surface can tear up the equipment and your skin.

Drink plenty of liquids. Do not drink from the river. Protect yourself from the sun. Use sun screen and wear a hat and long sleeves for extended exposure to the sun.

Glass and styrofoam are outlawed on the river. Game Wardens and Peace Officers may check your possessions for such at the crossings. Be courteous to your fellow river riders. Keep public lewdness away.

On this stretch of the river a person may stop momentarily on any part of the banks of the river. But if you walk up the hill into a pasture, then you are trespassing and fair game to any objecting rancher, game warden, or peace officer.

Float it down, float it out. Please do not litter. Pick up any litter you see. This truly can remain the most beautiful stretch of the Guadalupe River. Be cautious to avoid harm to the water lilies, ferns, cypress trees, and all flaura and fauna along the river.

Rope swings are on private property. You assume any risks associated with their use.

A fishing license is required to be carried with you if you fish.

No Styrofoam or glass containers allowed at, on or in the river
